How does this:
This was kind of a surreal moment for me. I didn't know what to feel. One minute there was an overwhelming feeling of sadness but the next there was a sense of relief and clarity.
I, Samantha, worked on this weekend for nearly three years of my life. And now it's over. I can move on to... LIFE. To married life, even. That's exciting! And things were beautiful... but now I have the memories, I don't need the physical *things* Seeing it all boxed up and ugly like this is almost liberating.
I've been putting off going through the garage for weeks because I've been so tired. But finally getting to it (even though I'm not done yet) somehow rejuvenated me! It's like it released me from my wedding shackles. Jeez, I wonder how I'll feel once it's all out of my house! haha But ultimately what I mean to say is that it's nice to realize that there is life after the wedding and that normalcy will ensue. Furthermore, my creative life can see more than just mason jars and felt! (Though, I am keeping the extra burlap...)
I know that I'm going to work on a quilt soon. It's going to be made out of pieces of my wedding dress and the muslin and burlap and possibly the tulle left over from the wedding. I'll give it to my future daughter one day.... If it comes out okay.
Anyway, life post-wedding is shaping up to be pretty darn good! Both coastal receptions were amazing. Now we're home getting our lives back in order and adjusting to life with a baby (puppy) in the house again. We're working toward the honeymoon too! So far I'm 5lbs down and tomorrow will start some light activity in addition to eating primal. Drew is down a total of 7lbs (lucky!). We've been helping each other stay on track and it's been a lot easier this time around. Things are really good around here. Expect more family updates as time goes on and things get "less hectic!"
